My drawing has a daily practice in various contexts. Many days begin in pastry shops, many afternoons in bars and restaurants. While having breakfast, a meal or a drink I draw regular and occasional customers. I am interested in their universal character as human presences rather than in a particular identification. I am also interested in the possibility of drawing the space through the relationships of the various characters, with reduced spatial references.

Starting the day drawing helps me to keep my attention on the little things, to value drawing as a daily action combined with the mundanity of drinking my coffee. The repetition of the usual clients reinforces the modular idea of drawing, of universal solutions that inevitably happen as a result of a long process of visual investigation.

In this first hour free associations of words that do not necessarily make sense emerge, which transform the drawing into a different entity, with an altered sense.
